Real love is not something that just happens. Real unconditional love is built upon faults, imperfection, and vulnerability. Love is not just a simple feeling that we get for another or for ourselves, instead it is something that must grow. Love for ourselves and others is not just an emotion but a choice. It is a choice to look at another person with acceptance and kindness even in times when their face doesn't want to shine. Love is a choice, to accept yourself exactly as you are at this moment in time, faults included. Love means being vulnerable and giving to another without wanting anything in return. True pure love is not about getting, but instead about giving and sharing a connection. Love is making the choice to give kindness, without judgement at all times.
So how do we begin to grow love? First, begin to love ourselves. We begin by sending love to our own heart and mind. By releasing judgement of yourself, your fears, and your mistakes, you can have self-love. The act of self-love is being kind and caring for your own heart and soul. Without self-love, love for another cannot be pure. We must care for our own hearts, before tending to another. Once you love and accept your true being, you can then do that for others. Make the choice to see others through the eyes of love and understanding, and nothing less. As people we were put here to love and uplift one another. Grow love by being kind to others, accepting their faults and imperfections, and show up when they need a hand. Show love for your partner by growing your appreciation for them. Grow love for your family, by sharing laughter and support. And don't forget that your pets need love too, remember to nurture and care for them. All beings need love, in order to grow and feel supported. Make the choice to always have an open heart and an open mind both with yourself, and other people. By doing so, love will continue to grow all around you.

Life is meant to have meaning, but so often people live without things that truly matter to them. Many live a life of happiness , but without meaning. A life without meaning, is a life that is only lived on surface level. A life that matters, is a life that has a deeper sense of happiness and well being.
So how do we achieve a life that matters?
The qualities of a life that matters, are more simple to be tapped into the some may think. I work with clients to show them how to craft a life that matters. Here are some qualities that I can share with you, on how to get you started with a life of meaning.
Qualities of crafting a life that matters
1) Work with a purpose- Choose work that matters to you and excites you to participate in. Work from your heart and not your head. Work with meaning, by choosing to connect with something bigger. What impact can you make on your community?
2) Show others how to have a meaningful life- Choose to do things that make others happy and have a better quality of life. Start out by helping those that are forgotten about such as elders and the less fortunate. And think about one major lesson you have learned in life, then find a way to pass that along to others. Was there a time that impacted you to make a change?
3) Redefine your identity- Grow as a person by being curious. Learn new things, and become creative. Choose to do only things that make you better and those around you better. Make everyday a chance to become better, even if in a small way. Commit to a better version of yourself, and release habits that are harmful to you. After a better version of you has emerged, share your process with others to help them do the same. Who would you be proud of becoming?
