What's the difference between living and just existing? Living means that you are in the driver's seat of your life and existing means that you are in the backseat of your life just going along for the ride. So which one are you doing? Living means meaning being present in your life and in your thoughts. Are you in the now, the past or the future? The most fulfilled a person can possibly be, is done by living in today. By living in the today, you are making a conscious effort to make your life better on a regular basis. That means not filling moments by being distracted by internet, phone, and TV. It means living an active life in which you are participating in things that bring you joy rather that fill time and space. Are you struggling just to get through a day? If so, you are filling time with things that aren't important or meaningful to you. Does your work have meaning or is it just a paycheck? Do you love life when you wake up or just want to survive the day ahead? Life is meant to be lived, not coasted by on autopilot. If you are coasting, start making changes to your daily routine. Change your morning routine, and make it one you enjoy rather than rushing through it. Make time for moments of silence to clear your thoughts either through meditation or just sitting quietly for a short period of time. People often spend so much time rushing through their day that they forget to just be still, and take a moment rather than keep going or picking up their phone. Take time to think about what changes you want to make and find solutions rather than distractions. Be present in conquering your fears and you will feel more alive after you do. Where have you always wanted to travel? Make it a point to find a way to get there, even if it means saving money for a year to do so. Do something to help people that need it, rather than ignore that there are people less fortunate than you. Be grateful for what you have now, rather than ignore it. Love more, and give love everywhere you go. Loving more can mean just be more caring and kind to those around you and strangers you see. By being more present in you day to day you will begin to see that life has much more to offer when you drive it rather than sitting in the backseat of it and letting your day go by while you stare out the window.
