Are you spending all your time at work, then coming home to eat dinner and go to bed shortly after? Do you spend all your time with friends and never have quiet time to yourself? If you are doing things like these, then you are off balance. If you are looking to have a more meaningful life, you have to have an equal balance of work/passions,me time, family and friends time. If you look at your life and are missing some of those parts then you are off balance. Life can not be at it's happiest and most fulfilling when you are giving your full energy to just one or two things. Many people either spend too much time with there family or too much time with their job and neglect their own time. Having time for yourself is something that should be deliberate and scheduled to allow yourself time to think and take care of your own needs. Everyone should take time for themselves each day regardless if they have kids or not. Even if you alone time is just one hour at the gym or 30 minutes at night to read and write, take that time for your own well being. Often times people think that taking alone time is selfish when in reality it just means you are taking time to care for yourself as all people should. Make having personal interests and hobbies important again. Get back all the things you use to love by making them priorities, even with you have a full schedule. Schedule your week so that there are things you love along with things that are priorities. Take the time to spend with others socially as well. Schedule at least one day to be social a week even if your schedule is busy, in which you can have dinner with friends, or do a shared enjoyed activity together with friends. Life is meant to be enjoyed and not only base upon work or taking care of your family. Life should be a good balance of doing things you enjoy with loved ones, taking care of yourself, having happiness with personal interests, and feeding your passions. Don't give up having fun or enjoying your life just because you had children, got busy at work or became older, life is meant to be enjoyed at all ages through all times. People that live the longest are known to have an active social life and things they enjoy. Don't make excuses for why you don't have time for things , and start making life balance a priority. Life is balance is necessary to be happy healthy and fulfilled.
