Curiosity can be defined as the wanting to know and learn. A big part of curiosity is the wanting to know about or learn something new. Without trying new things or learning new skills, we cannot discover what is possible for us to accomplish. When you give up the ability to be curious, you are giving up wanting to know what you can actually be capable of. There is no way of knowing what you may be capable and great at unless you try to discover new things about yourself. The reason most people stop being curious or wanting to learn new things is because they get stuck in there comfort zone and become complacent. The act of learning and discovering takes effort and time. The effort and time, then turns into the need to practice and master the new things or skills you have learned for yourself. A majority of society chooses not to do this because new things take time and it can be much easier and take less time to stay stuck in what you know. Without discovery and curiosity, there will never be any groundbreaking or epiphany like moments for you. A true life changing moment comes when you find out that your life can be something you never thought possible. Until you take a step into an unknown matter and try to learn a little more about it, nothing will be exciting or surprising in your life. Instead, life will be a steady flow of unmotivated and familiar moments. There will never be a next step or a big move forward because nothing is moving without learning something new or being curious about what could come next in your life. For example, the idea that sparked my business was a book I picked up on my lunch break from my boring office job that I was looking to get out of but didn’t know how. The book lead me on to researching a new field of work to pursue. In turn, I also rediscovered my love of helping others. Little did I know that when I picked up the book on my lunch break that it would encourage me to start a business and begin the career of my dreams. I had not intention of starting a business that year or becoming a life coach. But, with some discovery and research I was able to reach a connection within myself. So, if you are unsure what your next step in life is, or what could possibly bring you happiness, begin just by being curious! Look for new learning possibilities and eventually you will discover something that could change your life and reconnect you with real self.
