So what is a fulfilling life? Is a fulfilling life a great career, a beautiful home, and a large sum of money in the bank? Or is a fulfilling life, living each day in happiness and loving your life from the time you wake up in the morning until the time you go to bed at night. The idea of a fulfilling life is often confused with having a material filled life of luxuries and amenities. Fulfillment from material things will never bring a lasting fulfillment. Happiness from money, corporate career success or materials will always be short lived and you will always be reaching for the next thing. The idea of having a fulfilling life should be looked at as being happy from the things that are within you and the happiness that you bring to the environment around you. Fulfillment is something that can only be felt from within and not from outside influences. Fulfillment comes from a sense of gratitude and appreciation for the things that you fill your day with. The things that you fill your day with should be meaningful to you and should provide meaning to others lives around you. So how do I fill my day with meaningful things? First, began with connecting to things that bring your heart bliss and an overall sense of happiness. For example, simple bliss for me is listening to good music and a good cup of coffee each morning. Other things that bring me bliss are sitting in the sun, playing with my niece, taking a walk through a park, or reading a good book. Find the simplistic things that make you happy, and then look to find the larger things to bring more meaning to your life. What gift or service do you have to bring to others? What problem can you solve for others? We all have something that we are gifted at, and can provide an answer to someone's problem. What is that for you? Once you find your purpose and the small things that bring your heart bliss each day, your life will become fulfilled. Happiness will come easily and your heart will feel at peace. True fulfillment cannot come from a promotion at work, a new car, or large amount of followers on social media, but instead the feeling of meaning that your day has and what your heart feels each day when you go to sleep.
