Like most people, fear is something that is felt when we are approaching something that is unknown to us. Fear can exist when we are starting a new job, a new relationship, or just simply trying something completely out of our comfort zone. Fear is not understanding how a situation will turn out because we don't have enough information or experience to relate to it. Our mind often fills with fear when we are intimated by a situation and are scared that it will turn out negatively. The fear of failure can take over you mind. But, what we all need to remember is that fear can be a good thing. Without fear, there would not be anticipation. Fear is just excitement masked. Fear is the feeling you get before you take the leap in to the unknown. The mind tells you that you can't handle the unknown event because there is not enough information to move forward. You just have to just learn to block those feelings of uncertainty out and visualize a feeling of a time when you felt really confident. When you are trying something new, visualize an event or time that made you feel confident, and use that memory to step into the thing that you are fearful of. Always have that confident memory on cue in your mind and practice bringing your mind back to that confident event. In the future, whenever you are faced with a fear you just have to recall that confident memory and you will be able to calm your mind quickly. Releasing your fears is simply just training you mind to remember what it is like to be confident. It may seem difficult at first and it does lots of practice. But after doing this exercise for so long, eventually you will just be able to release all fears without thinking twice and confidence will be your new best friend. So embrace fear and remember that you can be confident in the face of the unknown, you just have to remember your confidence!
